The plot summary:
Louisa Clark, a young woman with a unique sense of style and a positive outlook on life, struggles to find a steady job. She ends up taking a job as a caregiver for Will Traynor, a man who is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair. Initially, Will is distant and unhappy, but Lou's cheerful personality slowly starts to break through his walls. As they grow closer, Lou discovers more about Will's life before his accident and becomes determined to show him that life is still worth living. She plans fun activities like going to a horse race and a classical music concert to help him rediscover his love for life. Through these experiences, Will begins to open up and find joy in Lou's company.
However, Lou eventually learns that Will has decided to pursue assisted suicide in Switzerland. He feels that he can't have a fulfilling life in his current condition. Heartbroken, Lou tries to change his mind, hoping that their bond can give him a reason to keep living. The movie explores the deep connection between Lou and Will, touching on themes of love, choice, and the right to make decisions about one's own life. Despite Lou's efforts and the love that grows between them, Will sticks to his decision. Characters and performance:
Emilia Clarke adds a lot of liveliness and charisma to the character of Lou, showing her warm and quirky personality. Sam Claflin gives a very detailed performance as Will, showing his inner struggles and emotional growth. The connection between Clarke and Claflin is strong and really brings out the emotions in the movie. There are many characters in the story, like Camilla Traynor, who is Will's loving mother. Then there's Stephen Traynor, Will's practical father. Lou has a boyfriend named Patrick, who is really into fitness. Lou also has a sister named Katrina, who is always there for her. And finally, there's Nathan, who is Will's kind physical therapist. These characters go through a lot together, dealing with love, loss, and the importance of making their own decisions.
